This week’s challenge demands a succulent twist. We should drop a music-inspired piece: a playlist, song lyric, short video, literary works or artwork that blends sound & flavor.
All I could think of are Haiku’s, which are Japanese poetry. Part of their beauty is that they adhere to a strict 5-7-5 beat of sentences structures. Kind of rhythmical don’t you think, like a song.
Jack Kerouac proposed that, because the English language structure is different than Japanese, the western haiku should “simply say a lot in three short lines. Above all, a Haiku must be very simple, free of all poetic trickery and make a little picture, and yet be as airy and graceful as a Vivaldi Pastorella.
So sit down, open a bag of chirps, and enjoy.

How can I resist?
Summer hues, taste wafts into
June Hamburgers pop
When we ran
The orchard ran with us,
ran its way to auntie’s kitchen
A space for lunchbox dreams
Egg eagle snuggles by hunter ham
Lid shuts, good night
Bathed on the table, regal
Martha’s pudding mocked us
Plates are clear now
Relax all day long
Chuppets in the freezer, cold
Refreshing to eat
I do love summer
With less humidity, please
Enjoy the warm days
